MEET
THE SHARON THOMPSON LAW GROUP
 SHARON
THOMPSON founded the practice that became the Sharon
Thompson Law Group in 1976. She is a seasoned family lawyer and
accomplished practitioner in all aspects of estate
planning and probate administration, including elder law. She
has also taught at both the UNC-CH and North Carolina Central
Schools of Law.
A respected problem-solver and negotiator, Sharon was
voted 16th most effective during her two terms as a
legislator in the North Carolina House of Representatives
(1987-1990).
She was the recipient of the North Carolina Association
of Women Attorneys Annual Award in 1987, the Planned Parenthood
of Raleigh Margaret Sanger Award in 1990, North Carolina
AFL-CIO Legislative Award in 1992 and the ACLU-North Carolina
Frank Porter Graham Award in 2007. Sharon was a co-founder of
the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys and has served
as counsel for various non-profit organizations.
Her practice includes estate planning and probate
administration and many areas of family law.
DENISE DUNN,
is a long-time resident of Durham and a North Carolina native.
She worked fourteen years for Duke University Medical Center
before joining Sharon Thompson Law Group in 2005.
